Cleaning your registry
One very important item that is often overlooked is the system registry. This is the file on your computer that maps eveything out on your computer.
Every time you install or uninstall programs, there are multiple entried written or removed from the registry. 90% of all ‘uninstalls’ leave behind traces of the program that bloat your registry.
It is very important to use a registry scanner/cleaner on a regular basis to keep your system lean, mean and allow it to operate at an acceptable speed. When the registry had obsolete links and resgitry keys, that is just extra junk that it has to sift through when the system is starting up.
There are plenty of free registry cleaning programs out there to use. I personally use AML’s free program. You can download it at AML TOOLS.
Computer keep getting slower and slower?
Do you have a computer that is already obsolete? Does it take forever even to download a single file? You have a really tight financial situation but you can’t compromise quality. Ever thought about building your own computer with the use of materials and parts that are very affordable? Try looking for computer parts online that are cheap and try to put it together. You now have your own computer.
The first thing that you should do if you are really serious about this project is to buy a model of computer, make sure that it came out six months earlier, assemble a computer using individual spare parts, or perhaps get a refurbished computer with a limited warranty.
You need to optimize the cost and add value to your money. For what purpose are you going to use this PC? Fundamental uses like word processing and internet browsing are the most common. Then there are advanced functions like gaming, graphics editing, video editing, and other multimedia applications.
Once you have decided its primary use, decide what configurations you need. What are the computer accessories and computer parts you need? The basic parts are the CPU, RAM, motherboard, casing with power supply, the basic mouse, keyboard, and monitor. These are the basic parts you need if the purpose of the PC is just for word processing or Internet browsing. Throw in a sound card and a video card if you need to browse videos. A CD/DVD ROM is optional if you have a USB port. There are three options for this: a CD player which reads compact discs only, a CD/DVD player which can read a compact disc and a digital video disc, or a CD/DVD writer which not only reads both formats but can also burn a compact disc and a digital video disc.
Of course, the types of motherboard and video card would matter if the function of the PC is for multimedia purposes. For graphic editing, you would need higher specifications for the motherboard and the video card and a higher memory. For gaming PCs, still higher specifications are needed. Make sure that the motherboard has extra slots for the memory cards so that you can upgrade the RAM by adding memory cards.
A casing that has a lower power supply is ideal for word processing and Internet browsing purposes. But for multimedia purposes, higher power supply is required. Choose a casing that has a lot of vents for fans. A multimedia PC is going to need a lot of ventilation because a lot of work takes up a lot of heat.
If you have a choice between two computers with the same quality and warranty, with one allowing you to save up to 80 percent of the other’s cost, which would you choose? Studies have shown people who have tried buying a refurbished computer will never buy a brand new computer again. The manufacturers a so confident of their refurbished computers that they would offer the same warranties as the brand new ones. What exactly is considered a factory refurbished computer? A lot of gadgets can be labeled as factory refurbished nowadays. But not all of these are actually refurbished. A refurbished computer is basically those that are off-leased. These computers didn’t pass the quality control because of some minor fault found in the internal or external components. These computers are sent back directly to the manufacturing company where the problem can be corrected. After removing the errors, these units pass through a technical test which ensures that the system is working perfectly and up to the mark to meet the company’s standard. Consumer laws prevent manufacturers from selling anything considered factory refurbished as new, so they have to sell them with as 80% shaved off the original price.
Welcome
After searching the stores for a computer that would perform the was that I would like, I decided that the ones that I was looking at were way too expensive and decided to build my own.
I ordered the parts from NewEgg.com and gave it a shot. The only problem I ran into was when I attempted to use my old power supply. It was not strong enough and I had to go out at the last minute and buy one at Best Buy. Cost me $40 over what I would have paid at NewEgg for a similar power supply.
